From drought-tough bermuda to shade-loving fescue β we grow premium sod and seed for every yard in central North Carolina.
Developed by the University of Georgia and tested extensively at NC State, TifTuf Bermuda has proven itself as the top-performing bermuda variety in North Carolina. It uses 38% less water than other bermuda grasses while maintaining superior color and density.
TifTuf greens up early in spring and holds its color well into November β longer than any other bermuda variety. It's cold tolerant to zone 6b, making it perfect for central NC's occasional freezes.

Our Pennington Signature Series fescue is specifically selected for North Carolina's climate. This premium tall fescue blend delivers a deep, dark green color that stays attractive through fall, winter, and spring β when warm-season grasses are dormant and brown.
Fescue is the most shade-tolerant option we carry, thriving with as little as 3-4 hours of direct sunlight. It's the go-to choice for yards with large trees, north-facing slopes, and partially shaded areas.
We recommend in-ground irrigation for fescue lawns, especially during NC's hot summers. Fescue is a cool-season grass that can stress in July and August heat without adequate water.

If you want a beautiful lawn without spending every weekend mowing and fertilizing, Compadre Zoysia is your answer. It grows a thick, dense carpet that naturally crowds out weeds and handles moderate shade β something most warm-season grasses can't do.
Compadre requires less mowing than bermuda (it grows more slowly) and less fertilizer than fescue. It's incredibly durable, handling foot traffic from kids, pets, and equipment without thinning out.
The trade-off? Zoysia goes dormant (turns brown) from November through March. But many homeowners prefer this to the constant maintenance of a year-round green lawn.

We carry the same premium Pennington fescue blend used in our sod, available as seed in convenient 50lb bags. Whether you're overseeding an existing fescue lawn, repairing bare spots, or establishing a brand-new lawn from seed, this is top-quality genetics.
Seed is the most economical way to establish a fescue lawn β though it does require patience. Expect 10-14 days for germination and 6-8 weeks before the lawn is usable. For instant results, check out our fescue sod above.
